Expert Team
Argentry Reese
Is the President of Forensic Financial Consulting and a former IRS auditor who began his career with the Internal Revenue Service. While with the IRS, he received the training and work experience from the government’s top tax experts. He also held an accounting position at CNN, where he was responsible for the financial auditing functions for shows such as Wolf Blitzer, Anderson Cooper 360, and Larry King Live. He is responsible for the launch of numerous satellite tax preparation offices. He received his Bachelors Degree in Accounting at Morehouse College, where he was an honors graduate. He also distinguished himself from most accountants/auditors by successfully acquiring the Series 7 and Series 66 securities license, insurance licenses, and variable products license.
Elliot Hayes
Received a BS in Finance from Boston College (1993) and an MBA from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration (2000). Professionally, Mr. Hayes has maintained Board of Director level responsibility for numerous portfolio investments, including but not limited to, Talyst, FieldTurf, Royalty Pharma, American Community Newspapers, Plateau Systems, Legendary Pictures and Kingdom Securities (Zimbabwe). He is also a director of The Children’s Museum of the Arts in New York City. Mr. Hayes was previously the Managing Director, Proprietary Investments for Novaar Capital Management SPC. Before joining Novaar in April 2009, Mr. Hayes was a Managing Director of AIG Vantage Capital, a $2.5+ billion principal investment group of AIG Investments, currently known as PineBridge Vantage Capital and PineBridge Investments. Mr. Hayes joined AIG Investments in 2000 and was responsible for sourcing, managing, and executing private equity and mezzanine debt transactions, and maintaining intermediary and sponsor relationships. From 2000 to 2002, Mr. Hayes initially worked as a Research Analyst and Assistant to AIG Investments’ CEO, where he assisted in strategic planning, internal asset management activities, merger and acquisition analysis and integration, and general business development activities. His investment, corporate finance, and general management experience began in 1994. Prior to joining AIG Investments, Mr. Hayes worked at the Southern Africa Enterprise Development Fund (“SAEDF”) as a Senior Investment Associate. There, he participated in all aspects of the investment process for a $100 million venture capital/development fund. Before SAEDF, Mr. Hayes worked as an analyst in the Media and Telecommunications Group at Chemical Securities, having also completed the credit training analyst program at the firm.
Dr. J Vincent Eagan
Holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a PH.D in economics. He has worked as a consultant for a wide variety of federal, state, and local public agencies. He also practiced corporate and tax law for Dorsey & Whitney, a large international law firm. He has produced more than 80 articles, monographs, and conference papers on a wide range of topics, including tax treatment of the retirement plans and Indian tribal corporations. He has been a member of the academic advisory panel for Business Week magazine since 2006. He has served in an editorial capacity on several academic journals, including the Harvard Journal of Law and Technology, the Harvard Journal of Law and Legislation, the Journal of Real Estate Research and Business and Economic Review. He is a former board member of the National Economics Association and a Charter Fellow of the Southern Center for Public Policy Studies. Dr. Eagan’s academic experience includes teaching business and legal courses at several colleges and universities, including the MBA program at Georgia State University, the graduate faculty of Howard University, and Morehouse College.
Brian Anderson
Earned a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School and a BS in Accounting from Indiana University. Mr. Anderson’s began his accomplished career as an investment banker as an Associate at Donaldson, Lufkin, and Jenrette, elevating to the role of Vice President of the Media and Entertainment Group at RBC Capital Markets. His work experience continued as the Vice President at GF Capital, a media-focused middle market private equity fund in New York. Mr. Anderson was Senior Vice President for the firm’s new venture initiatives at Mansueto Ventures before joining GF Capital.
John H. Pitts III
John H. Pitts III is a certified public accountant with over 20 years of experience and serves as an on hand CPA with Forensic Financial Consulting. He graduated from Northwood University in Michigan with a B.B.A. in Accounting. He is a member of the AICPA, the Georgia Society of CPAs, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. Prior to his work with Forensic Financial Consulting, John led a team at GE Capital that performed due diligence analysis for commercial lending transactions. John’s experience includes providing audits and reviews for privately held companies and non-profit organizations; providing strategic tax advice for businesses and individuals; and providing business advisory services including litigation support. John is dedicated to educating his clients as well as the community about tax and accounting related issues through an educational outreach. His dedication is evident in his work as an expert panelist and guest speaker on topics geared toward entrepreneurs of small to medium sized businesses, executive management of nonprofit organizations.
